You may need a standard visitor visa to attend World Literacy Foundation in Oxford UK. This visa is for those travelling to the UK for business purposes, such as attending an event, as well as for tourists, visiting family and friends, or for medical treatment.

I have never attended a WLS before. What should I expect?
The World Literacy Summit is a space for delegates to collaborate, share ideas, and discuss knowledge between some of the world’s most ardent literacy and educational leaders, institutions, organisations, and pioneers.

What is the registration/ticket fee?
The registration ticket fee for the World Literacy Summit 2025 will be confirmed from October 2024.
Can anyone purchase tickets to the Summit?
Anyone who is interested and passionate about literacy and education is welcome to purchase a ticket to participate in the Summit.
How can I purchase a registration ticket to the summit?
You can visit our website to purchase the tickets and pay through a credit card. If you wish to make payment by other methods, please email us to info@worldliteracysummit.org
What is VAT and why is it being added to my registration fee?
VAT or Valued-Added Tax is a form of consumption tax. Per the UK government, we are required to charge 20 per cent VAT for each registration purchased for the Summit.
Overseas delegates must pay the VAT also, this will be charged on the invoice initially but can be reclaimed back from the UK VAT office for eligible delegates. Our VAT Registration Number is 174521316.
What is the World Literacy Summit’s refund policy?
The Summit ONLY offers refunds when the British Government do not approve your visa. If you are unable to attend for any other reasons, please contact us for further information on registration transfers.

How many papers can I submit?
You can submit only one paper per person or organisation.
What are the deadlines for submissions?
The deadline for submission of papers is on August, 31 2024.

What is a Letter of Invitation?
A Letter of Invitation is an official document which confirms a registration payment and extends an official invitation to the paid registrant to attend and participate in the upcoming conference. It provides you with an official reason to come to the UK. It might be one of the documents required for the visa application if you are from a country that does not have a visa exemption agreement with the UK.
How can I receive my Letter of invitation? If you require a visa letter or a letter of invitation for the Summit, please contact info@worldliteracysummit.org and we’ll issue you one as soon as possible.
What documents the British Embassy will require for my visa? If you are from a country that does not have a visa agreement with the UK, please consult your local British embassy or consulate for details, as requirements may vary for every country. It is likely that you will need a Letter of Invitation.
Can the World Literacy Summit assist me with the visa process?
The World Literacy Summit is NOT authorised to assist with the visa process. We only can provide you with a Letter of Invitation. All questions/concerns regarding the status of your visa should be directed to the British immigration authorities or British Embassy in your home country.
