The World Literacy Awards recognize annually the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations to advancing literacy worldwide. These awards celebrated innovative approaches, impactful programs, and dedicated efforts that have significantly improved literacy rates and education quality across the globe.

The application is open to all governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals who contribute to the promotion and advancement of literacy learning through projects and programmes.

Deadline to submit nominations: December 05, 2026.

The Awards Finals will be published on the website on March 24, 2027.

The World Literacy Council selects finalists to be honored at the World Literacy Summit.

Winners will be announced at a gala event on WLS 2027.

The Awards are an initiative of the World Literacy Foundation, a peak global literacy charity and the World Literacy Council.
